BIC (Basic Instructor Course)

Basic Instructor Course is a training program designed to prepare certified instructors for the BLS (Basic Life Support for Adults) and PBLS (Pediatric Basic Life Support) courses. Upon completion of this course, each participant should have a clear understanding of how provider courses are organized, possess skills related to adult learning principles, and be able to apply practical teaching skills assessment in students. Those undergoing the course must also be proficient in BLS (Basic Life Support for Adults) and PBLS (Pediatric Basic Life Support) skills.

Knowledges and skills
  • Practical skill #1

    Actions during Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and step-by-step use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) on adult and pediatric manikins.

  • Practical skill #2

    The practice of transferring an injured adult to a stable lateral position.

  • Practical skill #3

    Clearing the airways in cases of choking with a foreign object in adults and children.

  • Practical skill #4

    Practicing the sequence of actions and procedures in cases of drowning in adults and children.

  • Practical skill #5

    Teaching and pedagogical skills are imparted within the framework of the BLS and EPBLS courses. Participants collaborate with a certified instructor to delve into the intricacies of teaching the BLS and EPBLS courses.

  • Theoretical skill #6

    This is a review of the types of students in the BLS and EPBLS courses and the features of working with them. Participants work with a certified instructor to go through the various stages of instructor communication with a group of BLS and EPBLS course students.

  • Theoretical skill #7

    Sequence and specificity of teaching the theoretical part of the BLS and EPBLS courses. Together with a certified instructor, participants explore the processes of teaching the theoretical part of the BLS and EPBLS courses.

  • Practical skill #8

    Sequence and specificity of teaching simulation scenarios. Together with a certified instructor, participants explore the processes of practical skills and their teaching during the BLS and EPBLS courses.

  • Theoretical skill #9

    Review of the process of monitoring and checking the assimilation of knowledge in BLS and EPBLS course students. With a certified instructor, participants learn how to conduct assessments of future BLS and EPBLS course students.

  • Practical skill #10

    Reviewing feedback given to students and verifying their practical skills is crucial. In the BLS and EPBLS courses, participants are guided by a certified instructor through the process of receiving and processing feedback, as well as controlling the verification of practical skills.
