All-Ukrainian Resuscitation Council and Emergency Medicine
APO “All-Ukrainian Resuscitation Council and Emergency Medicine” was founded in March 2011 by a group of medical professionals from various fields and specialties involved in developing resuscitation, emergency medical care, and disaster medicine in Ukraine.
Over the past 10 years, the activities of the All-Ukrainian Resuscitation Council have been extremely productive. We were the first to introduce extensive training for schoolchildren on the issues of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and we continue to do so to this day. We have developed and disseminated significant teaching materials on cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Therefore, we are incredibly pleased that some aspects of the systemic work we initiated are being continued and implemented.
It is important to note that our primary goal is systematic and consistent change. The implementation of quality education is a crucial component of all our projects. Skills in performing basic resuscitation measures are necessary for everyone, both medical professionals and ordinary citizens. All professional resuscitation measures start with the basics and form the foundation for the successful implementation of cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
We have clear goals and objectives for ourselves:
Prevention or minimization of the consequences of emergencies, military actions, reducing casualties from accidents and disasters, improving knowledge, skills, and abilities in resuscitation, and providing pre-hospital and emergency medical care in Ukraine.
Improvement of legislation in the field of organizing medical care for the affected in emergencies and the implementation of resuscitation measures can unquestionably be considered an example of global experience and standards for resuscitation measures.
As of 2023, there are more than 149 ERC-certified instructors in Ukraine. It is also worth noting that the total number of people who have undergone certified training exceeds 9000+ individuals.
At the All-Ukrainian Resuscitation Council, we are confident that implementing this knowledge and skills at all levels in Ukraine will be the most effective way to save Ukrainian lives. We will continue to advocate for this on all possible levels in Ukraine. We aspire to achieve the ambitious goal of training 1,000,000 citizens in Ukraine. Education should be standardized and certified according to internationally approved programs. Only in this way can Ukraine, on the world map of education, change its color from gray (unknown, as we currently appear) to a more attractive green (a safe and educated country).
We hope that the steps we take will be implemented in the coming years and that the situation in transforming Ukraine’s emergency medical care system as an integral part of medical reform will improve! Implementing projects is part of the Concept for the Development of Emergency Medical Care Strategy in Ukraine for 2019-2023.
Let’s change Ukraine together! Join us because every person trained today can save a human life tomorrow!
